If it troubles you, nothing is too unimportant to talk about in counselling.
Issues which may trouble you include:
Relationship or friendship problems
Depression, anxiety, stress or panic attacks
Eating disorders
Bullying, being abused or hurt
Low self-esteem
Work-related problems
Couples counselling
Ill health, your's or someone else's
Bereavement
Emotional trauma
Talking can often be a great help in understanding and dealing with fears
and painful feelings. I believe that actually recognising there is a problem and taking action to deal with it, such as booking a first counselling appointment, often can be the hardest part of solving the problem.
First appointments are introductory ones and I regard them as exactly that. If you don’t want to continue, there’s no commitment upon you to do so.

Benefits of counselling:
Start to show how you really feel towards others.
In doing so, you may find that your relationships become stronger. Showing
feelings can still be hard work, but may be worthwhile as it can help you
to feel better.
Begin identifying that you have needs too
and
to start learning to discuss your needs with others.
Recognise when you're being hard on yourself
and imposing unrealistic expectations. Explore why you do it. |
